Facing Reality

Wow, what a topic. What seems so simple can actually be a whirlwind of a journey. Facing reality is not just about facing merely the visible things of our lives, but is instead about facing it all. The visible and the invisible. The physical aspect of our life along with the truth we feel inside our hearts with our life.

The strength it takes to face our truth in the midst of chaos. The strength it takes to hold up our truth and believe in our truth, when what we feel can make the difference between being accepted or unaccepted. The ways in which we learn to protect ourselves with denial and lying to ourselves. It is really no joke, but wow what a difference it makes.

Sometimes, we feel parts of us are true, while our mind and logic tells a different story. It is from my experience so far that the truth we can always rely on is the truth of how we feel.

The mind can be manipulated with stories we tell ourselves or other people tell us, but our heart never lies. Our bodies, our feelings, our subconscious is always keeping account of what we have witnessed. And what we witness will stay stuck inside if we do not process it, if we do not face it.

It might go something like this:

Something happens to us when we are young. Something that shocks us, breaks us, uproots us. Something we don't know how to communicate, something we can't even fathom anyone being able to support us in. We feel if we accept the way we feel, we will end up alone and suffering. And facing how we feel becomes just too much. Maybe sharing how we felt made other people upset and angry because it showed them something they could not face. So we get on with life, learning how to lock away apart of our heart in order to keep going. Then, as life goes on, something else happens to us, a "new" heartbreak that is really just a manifestation of the old heartbreak we buried. Anyways, we panic, and lock this version of ourselves away too. We do this until we have little to no self left. We feel confused, lost without direction, don't even know what we like and don't like anymore, violated, hopeless.

Now, where does one go from here? They begin to face the reality of their heart that holds that initial small child with a broken heart. They begin to come home to who they are, unlocking all those parts of themselves to become whole again.

The mind has gotten used to manipulation and denial to survive, so it is time to finally trust how we feel as the truth.

This is how we see through manipulation. This is how we become soul warriors. By living in the realm of the heart, not only in the realm of the mind.

It is always heart first, then the mind as a tool. Not the other way around.

And this is how you find those answers you've been searching for, this is how you find that realness, that authenticity, that intimacy. This is how you discover the truth of all truths.

By facing your truth, you will begin discovering parts of yourself that your mind never could imagine even existed, but that part of your heart will feel so relieved to be found again. Although it may be painful, it will also feel so good to come home to yourself, to begin welcoming in all those versions of yourself you locked away.

You'll start discovering truths that make no sense to your mind and your story, but so much sense to your heart and what you truly have experienced inside.

And this is everything. Coming home to yourself, believing in yourself and your instincts over anything anyone else tells you is just so powerful. This is the power, this is the love, this is the healing.

I also want to add that if you are afraid that feeling what is in your heart will lead you down a deep, bottomless pit of despair that you'll never be able to climb out of, or, in other words, you are afraid you will be stuck in what you feel, that is not the case.

The only time we stay stuck in what we feel is when we are blocking something from our awareness.

Being in our heart will always unravel and move what we need to move. The heart is in constant motion, in constant flow. Its very nature is that of expansion, evolution, flow, and growth. Physically, that is what it is too. It expands and contracts, dancing in this rhythm, making blood flow throughout the body in order for life. On an energetic level, the heart is the flow of life force.

The truth of what we feel is the flow of our life force. It is the language of our soul.

The rhythm of our breath is the rhythm of our heart.

A deep, full, easy flowing breath leads to a strong heart.

A constricted breath leads to a constricted heart.

Physically and energetically.

All in all, this is a movement to let life flow again. No judgement, no constriction, no shame, no rules. All in with the heart. Trust it, surrender. "Home is where the heart is" is true. Trust that. Find that your heart is a cozy place to be, a realm where magic exists. This world of the heart is the world that you long for, that you know is possible. It is the realness, the adventure you long for. Come home ♡
